NEOM Construction Villages — 50,000 m³ of SuDS

NGS designed and supplied 50,000 m³ of AquaCell geo-cellular system for soakaway and infiltration across a NEOM construction village — moving the client away from open ponds with a value-engineered modular system, and the first AquaCell installation in the Kingdom.

The challenge

The original drainage strategy relied on open attenuation ponds — consuming valuable surface area, demanding ongoing maintenance, and raising safety and evaporation concerns in the desert climate.

The NGS solution

NGS value-engineered the scheme from open ponds to a modular sub-surface AquaCell geo-cellular system — freeing the surface for development, eliminating standing water, and accelerating the programme.

The results

A 50,000 m³ below-ground SuDS system delivered as the first AquaCell installation in Saudi Arabia — surface land recovered, maintenance reduced, and a repeatable model established for further NEOM phases.
